As proud parents, Jamie and Jools Oliver are quick to post photos of their five offspring on social media.

But the celebrity chef has now banned his 14-year-old daughter from posting selfies, and compares the trend to pornography.

Oliver, 42, criticised parents who let their children post provocative photographs on the internet.

He told podcast The Lifestyle News Hound: 'We're the first generation of parents to deal with this [social media].

'I'm going to generalise massively here, but from my observation so far, at 13 to 14 the kind of pictures girls are putting up, from what I have seen, are split 50/50 - a normal young girl and then this weird hybrid of, dare I say it, quite porno, luscious, pouty lips, pushing boobs out.

'I'm like, 'My god!' I don't even want to look at some of the things my daughter shows me. I'm like, 'Really? Aren't their parents all over that like a rash?'

'We banned Daisy from doing selfies. It's almost the sugar of social media - it's a quick way to get some sort of pat on the back or love.'

The couple have three daughters - Poppy Honey, 15, Daisy Boo, 14, and Petal Blossom, eight - as well as sons Buddy Bear, seven, and 15-month-old River Rocket.

Six of 43-year-old Mrs Oliver's latest nine social media posts have featured her children, while just last week her husband posted a cute snap of River playing with a toy.

In April, Oliver was criticised by his mother Sally after posting a picture on Instagram of River lying on a terracotta tiled floor with the caption: 'Morning little boy... always good to get a nice smile.'

Sally Oliver was quick to point out that the surface wasn't suitable for a young baby.

She wrote: 'Please get him off that hard floor now.' Other users backed her, with one saying: 'Couldn't agree more with Sally Oliver.'

Another wrote: 'Come on, Jamie! Pick him up.'

Last month, Oliver posted a video of River laughing while dressed in a bath robe to his 6.1 million followers. The video mesum was watched by almost 800,000 fans and received more than 1,000 comments.

Poppy and Daisy were at River's birth and Poppy even cut his umbilical cord, with Jamie catching the 'magic' moment on camera.

He said: 'Often mums have to work hard for teenage girls and I just thought it was an amazing moment to respect your mum for being pretty damn incredible.

'It was just magic and I got it on camera as well.'
